The story
The National Archaeological Museum of Nola, housed since 2000 in the complex of Santa Maria la Nova, tells the history of the Nola area from prehistory to the Middle Ages. It is part of the Regional Directorate of Museums of Campania.

Among the most notable pieces, the model and finds of the Bronze Age village of Croce del Papa — a kind of 'prehistoric Pompeii' buried by an eruption of Vesuvius —, the Etruscan and Samnite tombs, and a section dedicated to the 'riggiole', the Neapolitan majolica tiles.
