The story

The National Archaeological Museum of Calatia, at Maddaloni, tells of the ancient town of Calatia, which arose along the Appian Way. Inaugurated in 2003, it is housed in the Casino di Starza Penta, a sixteenth-century fortified farmhouse that was the residence of the Carafa della Stadera and a hunting place of Charles of Bourbon.

What to see

In the rooms of the museum, the grave goods of the necropolises and the finds of ancient Calatia reconstruct the daily life of the town from the eighth century BC, through the themes of the territory, the town and its tombs.
