Chiusano di San Domenico is a village of central Irpinia, among the mountains east of Avellino. Its documented history is essential, but it holds a page that deserves memory: between 1940 and 1943 it was one of the municipalities of Campania destined by the Fascist authorities to the civil internment of Jewish refugees, freed with the arrival of the Allied army in September 1943.
