The story
Via Krupp is the famous pedestrian road that descends from the Gardens of Augustus to Marina Piccola with a series of hairpin bends carved into the limestone rock. It was willed and financed by the German industrialist Friedrich Alfred Krupp, who frequented Capri; it was designed by Emilio Mayer and completed in 1902. Its eight white hairpins are a symbol-image of the island.
