The story
The Botanical Garden of Naples was founded on 28 December 1807 by decree of Joseph Bonaparte, and has since been one of the most important scientific gardens in Italy. It extends for about twelve hectares along via Foria, next to the Real Albergo dei Poveri, and is run by the University Federico II.
