The story
The Valley of the Mills of Gragnano, on the Lattari Mountains, is a gorge where for about six centuries dozens of water mills worked, driven by the Vernotico stream. They were the engine of the local economy and are at the origin of Gragnano's fame as the homeland of pasta: from 1859 the milling gave way to the pasta factories.
