The story

The Botanical Garden of Portici, in the park of the Royal Palace, was established in 1872 together with the Royal Higher School of Agriculture, developing the eighteenth-century gardens of the Bourbon palace. It is one of the historic botanical gardens of Campania, tied to the University Federico II.

What to see

Over four thousand specimens of about a thousand species, among greenhouses and open-air collections: the rich collection of desert plants stands out, with over six hundred species of cacti and succulents, but there are also ferns, palms, carnivorous and medicinal plants.
