The story

The Lighthouse of Punta Carena rises on the south-western tip of Capri, a few kilometres from Anacapri. Lit in 1867 to a design by Bourbon engineers, with its octagonal tower it is one of the most important lighthouses in Italy: its light reaches twenty-five miles out to sea.

What to see

The white tower with red stripes on the cliff, in one of the wildest and most panoramic points of the island, far from the crowd. Around it, the rocks where you bathe and one of the best places on Capri for sunset, when the sun sets into the sea beside the lighthouse.
