The story
The Girolamini Complex, dedicated to the Nativity of Mary, is the great edifice of the Oratorian Fathers of Saint Philip Neri in the old centre, opposite the Duomo. The church was built from 1592 and completed in 1619, with the façade remade in the eighteenth century by Ferdinando Fuga. It holds the Girolamini Library, the oldest public library in Naples, and one of the city's first picture galleries open to the public.

The Baroque church, the two monumental cloisters and above all the Girolamini Library, with its wooden shelving and ancient volumes, and the Quadreria with works by Neapolitan masters. A very vast complex, among the most important of the old centre.
