The story
The Castello Aselmeyer is one of the most surprising architectures of Naples: a neo-Gothic villa of Tudor taste on the Corso Vittorio Emanuele, built between 1899 and 1902 to a design by the architect Lamont Young — the same as Villa Ebe. It takes its name from the banker Carlo Aselmeyer, who bought it around 1904.
What to see
The English-castle façade, with the two side towers clad in Vesuvian stone and the pointed arches, set on the hill above Chiaia: a piece of Nordic romanticism facing the gulf, among the best examples of neo-medieval architecture in the city.

The castle is today divided into private apartments and is not visitable inside: it is admired from the outside, from the Corso Vittorio Emanuele. It is a fine detail along the scenic walk of the Corso, handy also by the funiculars.
