The story
Marina del Cantone is the marina of Nerano, in the municipality of Massa Lubrense, at the southern tip of the Sorrento peninsula. Born as a fishing village, it keeps the boats pulled up on the shore, the white-and-yellow little church and one of the widest pebble beaches of the peninsula. It is also famous for its cuisine: here spaghetti alla Nerano, with courgettes, was born, a recipe handed down from generation to generation.
What to see
The long pebble beach facing a clear sea, the core of the old fishing village and the trattorie that have made the local cuisine famous. From here the scenic path sets off towards the cove of Recommone and towards the Baia di Ieranto, opposite the Faraglioni of Capri: one of the most beautiful and protected stretches of coast in the gulf.

Tips
The beach alternates free stretches and establishments; in summer it is very busy, better to arrive early. Marina del Cantone is also a base for boat excursions and for the paths of the area: from here you reach Recommone and Ieranto on foot. The road from Nerano is narrow and the parking limited.
