The story
The beach of the Maronti, between Barano and Sant'Angelo, is the most extensive on the island of Ischia: a long stretch of coast at the foot of a ridge, famous for the thermal phenomena that surface there — the fumaroles, the hot springs of Cavascura. A stretch of coast marked by the volcanic heart of the island.

A long strand facing the Tyrrhenian, with the peculiarity of the vapours and hot springs that gush from the sand and the rock. At the end towards Sant'Angelo are the fumaroles and the ancient thermal baths of Cavascura.

Important: the coast of the Maronti has been hard hit by erosion and landslides of the ridge, with closure ordinances of some stretches to protect safety. Before going, check the current status of the beach and accesses on the official channels (Municipality of Barano, Civil Protection) and do not stop or pass in the interdicted areas beneath the ridge.
