The story
The Fjord of Furore is a narrow gorge carved by the stream down to the sea: a real little fjord that cuts into the Amalfi Coast, spanned high up by the bridge of the coast road. At its foot huddles the Marina di Furore, an old fishing village with houses clinging to the rock, once reachable only from the sea or by steep steps.
What to see
The small beach set between the sheer walls, under the arch of the bridge, is one of the most celebrated images of the Coast. The fishing village keeps its 'monazeni', the fishermen's storehouses. Every summer the fjord hosts spectacular diving competitions from the great bridge.

Tips
To the fjord's beach you go down by a long stairway from the coast road: reckon on it, and know that the space below is small and very crowded in high season. For arriving on the Coast, bear in mind the seasonal traffic restrictions: check the current rules on the official channels before setting off.
